Topic   How Supply Chains can be good for the environment & the bottom line

There is a common misconception that there are a lack of quantifiable metrics to establish sustainability as a contributor to profit. This may have been true at one time, but no longer. For example, the Beyond Supply Chains report by the World Economic Forum indicates sustainable supply chain practices can result in a 9% to 16% cost reduction. A more sustainable supply chain can result in benefits including reputational, cost reduction and revenue growth due to increased efficiencies and risk mitigation. EY will continue the discussion around supply chain and sustainability including touching on the following topics.

  • What trends are we seeing in the market?
  • What are environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria and how do they relate to sustainability?
  • What is the impact to the business through the lens of sustainability?
  • How can sustainability be integrated into day-to-day activities such as supplier relationship management (SRM) programs and the request for proposal (RFP) process?
  • Where can your company start?
