Why this Webinar?

Supply chain management is evolving.  Internal and external pressures to reduce lead time, speed up purchase order processing, cut costs, reduce supply risks, and seek longer and progressive supplier relationships shape the way we work and indeed, hint at the future of SCM. To meet these demands, traditional purchasing mentality tends to focus externally – find suppliers that can meet our terms and replace those that can’t; hire employees with decades of experience in negotiation in hopes that they can get better deals. Modern SCM thinking, however, focuses internally – dedicate as much if not more effort on controlling internal drivers and facilitating an organizational transformation that approaches the market intelligently to get more with less.

A large part of the transformation is the move to Category Management and Strategic Sourcing. These two disciplines of modern Supply chain management are tightly intertwined, sharing common knowledge and skills. The most mature SCM organizations in the world strive for excellence in both. Now is the time to seize the opportunity to bring more value to your organization than ever before.
