WEBINAR OVERVIEW

Explore how every purchase has an economic, social, cultural, and environmental impact, whether intended or not. This webinar, presented by Buy Social Canada, highlights how organizations can leverage social procurement to drive meaningful change benefiting people, the planet, and communities. Participants will gain insights into global trends, national best practices, and actionable steps to integrate social procurement into their operations.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT

Social procurement is transitioning from isolated pilot projects to mainstream adoption across Canada. By embedding social value in purchasing decisions, organizations in both the public and private sectors—such as SAP, Chandos Construction, City of Edmonton, Manitoba Housing, and York University—are demonstrating how procurement can serve as a powerful tool for fostering social, cultural, and environmental benefits. Understanding and applying social procurement is essential for organizations aiming to align their purchasing strategies with broader sustainability and community goals.

KEY OUTCOMES

By participating in this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the foundational principles and significance of social procurement and its potential impacts on people, the planet, and communities.
  • Learn about various approaches and best practices for implementing social procurement in Canadian organizations.
  • Apply knowledge of social procurement to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate opportunities within their organizations to integrate social value into procurement decisions.
  • Initiate actionable plans to implement social procurement strategies and drive impactful results.
