EVENT OVERVIEW

Join us for an engaging in-person networking event tailored for supply chain professionals and students eager to connect and expand their industry knowledge. This event will feature an insightful presentation on the critical role of aggregate in Canada’s supply chain, examining trends, challenges, and implications for professionals in the field.

What is Aggregate, and Why Does it Matter?

Aggregate refers to essential materials like sand, gravel, crushed stone, and other mined rock products used in virtually every facet of construction. From roads and hospitals to schools and community spaces, aggregate is a cornerstone of modern infrastructure. Each year, Canadians use vast quantities of aggregate—Albertans alone average 10-15 tonnes annually—to build homes, pave streets, and ensure safe driving conditions.

As a non-renewable resource, aggregate presents unique challenges for sustainable development. Its availability, transportation, and environmental impacts directly affect costs, emissions, and project timelines. Supply chain professionals play a vital role in optimizing these processes to balance economic efficiency with sustainability.

Your registration will include appetizers and 1 drink ticket.

Eligible members will receive 2 CPD for attending.

WHY THIS TOPIC MATTERS TO SUPPLY CHAIN PROFESSIONALS
  • Strategic Sourcing and Cost Implications: Understand how local versus remote aggregate sourcing impacts costs and emissions
  • Environmental Considerations: Explore regulatory frameworks and reclamation efforts in the aggregate mining industry
  • Infrastructure Development Trends: Learn how changing demands influence aggregate use and supply chains
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Students pursuing careers in supply chain management and related fields
  • Business and community leaders interested in infrastructure and resource management

Networking Value:
