WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

This one-day workshop (offered over two mornings) is designed to provide supply chain, project, and contract professionals with a useful understanding of engineering and construction services contracting—from strategy selection to contract formation and administration.

Participants will explore a wide range of project delivery models such as Owner-Engineer (OE), Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC), and Engineering-Procurement-Construction Management (EPCM), alongside contract compensation approaches including lump sum, reimbursable, unit price, and performance-based models.

Through real-world examples and guided discussions, attendees will learn how to align contract strategy with project goals while effectively managing contractual risk throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Compare and select appropriate project delivery models (OE, EPC, EPCM, etc.)

Richard Venerus brings over 20 years of experience in commercial and supply chain management across industries, including construction, real estate, oil and gas, power, transportation, technology, and financial services. He is a qualified lawyer, certified in Construction Law, and holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. He is a Masters of Law Candidate in Engineering and Construction law.

Richard is professionally trained or certified in Project Management, Change Management, Construction Contract Administration, Mediation, Arbitration, Adult Education, and ISO 44001 Collaborative Working. He is CEO of Venerus Advisory Partners and serves as a long-time senior instructor with Supply Chain Canada, delivering many courses, including on the topics of contract strategy, procurement, and risk management.

His unique blend of legal, strategic, and instructional expertise makes him a highly respected voice in the contracting space—particularly for engineering and construction-intensive projects.


REFUND POLICY

Registrants will receive a full refund for courses cancelled by Supply Chain Canada - West.

Registrants who have received written acceptance into a course and provided written notice to Supply Chain Canada - West of their withdrawal from the course 14 days before the first day of class, will be provided with a full refund. After 14 days, refunds will not be granted.
