ABOUT SUPPLY CHAIN CANADA WORKSHOPS

The Supply Chain Canada Workshops offer professionals the chance to learn directly from expert instructors with hands-on industry experience. These workshops provide practice tools and strategies to tackle the complex challenges in today’s supply chain sector.

Designed to deliver actionable insights, you’ll gain knowledge you can apply immediately to enhance your performance and advance your career. In addition, you’ll engage with fellow supply chain professionals from across Canada, expanding your network and exchanging ideas that will help you grow both personally and professionally.

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Pick the right RFx (RFI/RFQ/RFP/NRFP), draft it clearly, and post it correctly—with defensible steps that align to Canadian trade agreements and your internal governance.

You'll work through realistic scenarios (varying value/risk), deconstruct templates, and leave with decision flows, checklists, and a posting plan you can use the next day.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT
  • Value, fairness, transparency: Selecting the wrong RFx or omitting key instructions creates bias risk, supplier complaints, and rework. Strong documents + clean process = defensible procurement.
  • Trade thresholds matter (2024–2025): CFTA/CETA/CPTPP thresholds determine routing and posting—know when you must go public and what document fits.
  • Canada reality: For over-threshold buys, GoC practice is to post publicly and run a competitive process.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
  • Supply chain & procurement professionals (public or private) who buy with public-sector rules or sell into government
  • Program/Finance/IT partners who help prepare scopes and evaluations
  • Career changers/new hires seeking a Canadian public procurement lens
LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end, participants will be able to:

  • Select the correct RFx type for a requirement based on value, risk, and market (RFI vs RFQ vs RFP/NRFP)
  • Draft clear, fair, and auditable RFx sections (instructions, SOW, Ts&Cs, forms) aligned to trade thresholds and governance
  • Plan the posting route/timeline (incl. APC where required) and manage addenda properly
  • Embed sustainability/policy priorities and set up a clean hand-off to evaluation
  • Use a practical RFx decision tree, checklists, and a posting plan back at work

WHAT YOU'LL TAKE AWAY

  • RFx decision tree (when/why/how) + RFx content checklist
  • Posting plan template
  • Trade threshold quick-ref (CFTA/CETA/CPTPP pointers)
  • Example sections: instructions to proponents, forms, addenda log
