Course Overview

   

In this two-day workshop participants will be introduced to the concepts of strategic management and the different levels of strategy, structure of the organization, value proposition, competitive advantage, positioning, and sustainability.

Participants can expect to learn about different strategic analysis tools including Porter 5-Forces, SWOT and PEST. At the end of the workshop participants will understand and know how to use appropriate strategic analysis tools and processes. They will also be able to develop and/or optimize their supply chain strategy in alignment with their organizations’ overall strategy and the economic environment.

This workshop is geared to managers and professionals from the Purchasing, Operations, Cost Control, Production, Engineering, Sales and Marketing or Quality Departments

About the Instructor:

Dan is currently the Supplier Technical Assistance Resident in Global Purchasing for Ford Motor Company of Canada. He is in charge of supplier development for the over 600 suppliers of the Oakville Assembly Complex. Dan teaches Supply Chain  Management in the MBA program at the Schulich School of Business at York University and Operations Management,  Procurement and Supply Strategy in the BBA / MBA programs at the School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. He is SCMA’s Principal Education Strategy consultant, the chair of the Academic Content Review round table, the Chair of PMAC’s Instructors Development Education Committee, a member of the Mechanical and  Electro-Mechanical Engineering Program Advisory Committee at Sheridan College, and a member of the National Accreditation Review Panel of the (CSCSC).
